When you get into college money starts to become a problem (or well any financially downfall in your life). So you start trying to find ways to save money, make money, etc etc. And then you start complaining about how much food costs and it's all down hill from there. But now I have the food list that just keeps on giving.
1. Frozen fruit
2. Soft Tortilla Shells
3. Sandwich meat
4. Cheese
5. Peanut Butter (Almond Butter)
6. Eggs
7. Oats
8. Yogurt
9. Applesauce
+ {coffee}
The first item I encourage you to buy in order to save money is coffee. You need it, you deserve it, and it's best at Starbucks. But it's also extremely expensive to go to Starbucks every morning or any other place that serves deluxe coffee. Buying already ground coffee to be made with your home coffee maker can cut down your every day costs by an estimated 8 dollars a week by simply buying the Starbucks Breakfast Blend ground coffee bag and that's IF you only get a small regular coffee every morning at Starbucks.
Meals:
Fruit and Yogurt Tortilla Breakfast Burrito : Lay your soft tortilla shell out onto a plate and spread yogurt all over the tortilla. Then take your favorite fruit mix out of the frozen fruit bag and place fruit all over the tortilla. When you have as much as you want roll the tortilla up like a burrito and you have yourself your very own amazing breakfast burrito. And if you have yogurt left pop some of your fruit into the bowl and finish it off too!
Oatmeal: Obviously you can make oatmeal with oats but by buying single oats you can make it just the way you want it. Whether it be apple pie oatmeal (made with the apple pie spice and cinnamon) or the traditional brown sugar oatmeal you can change it up every morning.
Yogurt Oats: Oats are extremely good for you as well as yogurt. Instead of using granola you can use oats in your yogurt for a healthy filling meal.
Peanut Butter and Fruit Burrito: Spread peanut butter (or if you're looking for a healthier alternative or you have a peanut allergy use almond butter). Afterwards put fruit such as apple slices or banana slices on the butter and roll the
tortilla shell up.
Peanut Butter Apple Sauce Burrito: Once again for a healthier or non-allegenic reaction you can use almond butter. Spread the butter and applesauce on the tortilla shells and roll them up for another burrito.
Peanut Butter Fruit Snack: Use the peanut butter as a dipping sauce for your favorite frozen fruit.
Peanut Butter Oat Burrito: Mix oats into your peanut butter to spread over your soft shell for an afternoon snack or breakfast. Dip this burrito into apple sauce if you want something sweet to add to your meal.
Sandwich Burrito: Once you have your favorite sandwich meat put some on top of the shell and add cheese accordingly. Roll the burrito up and you have yourself lunch.
Eggs: Obviously you can make eggs with well eggs. But think about all of the different kinds. You have boiled, sunny side up, scrambled, and over-easy.
Eggs and cheese: The perfect dish to satisfy your protein and diary needs.
Apple Sauce and Fruit Snack: Use apple sauce as your dipping sauce for your favorite fruit.
Yogurt Fruit Cup: Add fruit to your yogurt cup to get more satisfaction out of your meal or snack.
Egg and Cheese Tortilla: If you really want an interesting breakfast burrito scramble some eggs and sprinkle cheese on them to put in your tortilla shell.
Omelet: You can make an amazing omelet with your choice of sandwich meat, cheese, and eggs (of coarse).
Omelet burrito: Put your favorite omelet into a burrito and take breakfast (or dinner) on the go.
As always just for you,
M.
